Cider List and Things to Remember

There’s only 4 days to go until Wicken Beer Festival 2023 gets underway and we thought we should give out our usual advice for attending and let you know which wonderful ciders we’ll be stocking this year.

Let’s start with the ciders. As always we’ve got wonderful ciders from Spinney Abbey for your drinking pleasure:

Monk and Disorderly 6.1%

Virgin on the Ridiculous 6.1%

Dirty Habit 4%

Prior Warning 4%

These are all very drinkable and totally delicious.

Since it’s been 4 years since our last festival it’s probably sensible to go through a few things prior to the big day. So, here are a few tips and reminders for you:

1. Please don’t bring your dog! Who doesn’t love dogs?! BUT we hold the Beer Festival on the Recreation Ground where kids and adults alike play sports and have lots of fun, so unfortunately dogs are not allowed. Please don’t bring them.

2. There will be some seating and marquees for shelter provided but it is always a good idea to bring some of your own camping chairs, blankets, umbrella’s etc. The weather is currently looking good so lets all keep our fingers crossed that it stays that way.

3. Please do not bring your own alcohol as our Licence doesn’t cover it.

4. There is free parking off Lower Road. Cars can be left there over night but the owner kindly asks that you collect it ASAP in the morning. The field may also be muddy after a few days of rain so please be careful and park sensibly.

5. We can only take cash on the day. Please come prepared as the nearest cash machine is about 3 miles away in Soham.

6. There will be a £2 charge for your Branded glass this year. They come as standard in Pints but do have 1/2 pint marks on them if you’re taking things slowly or tasting as much as you can. These will be the only glasses available so if you don’t want to buy one then please make sure to bring your own.

You’ll also notice a few more business banners and signs dotted around the place. This is because we have kindly received help from these businesses in exchange for a little bit of advertisement. If it wasn’t for the help we received from these businesses it would have been very difficult to put on the beer festival this year.
