Only 2 weeks to go…..Beer and Cider News!

With only 2 weeks to go until it all kicks off we are making last minute preparations, organising volunteers and deciding who’s doing what and when.

After much debate, thanks to your feedback, the commitee decided to have Gravel Road back as our headline act for the evening.  They are a great bunch and help us out immensely by not charging the earth.  We are trying out a Pink Floyd tribute act, “Learning to Fly” who will be doing the “early” slot.  If you might be interested in playing next year do let us know and we’ll see what we can do.

Beer and Cider News!

As usual we are operating a ticket system where you will buy tickets and then exchange them for a pint(s) at the bar.  We are monkholding our prices this year at £3 a pint.

We have a few beers “confirmed” for the evening (*disclaimer*):

  • Blue Monkey BG Sips 4.0
  • Abbeydale Absolution 5.3
  • Elland Nettlethrasher 4.4
  • Grafter Wobble Gob 4.9
  • Hadrians Farne Island 4.0
  • Osset Silver King 4.3
  • Holdens Black Country Mild 3.7
  • Kelham Island Riders o the Storm 4.5
  • Burton Bridge Bitter 4.2
  • Daleside Leg Over 4.1

We will once again have the excellent (and now award winning!) ciders from Jonny Fuller with his Monk and Disorderly 5.9% (Champion Cider of the Festival at Norwich Beer Festival 2013) and/or his Virgin on the Ridiculous and the various Pickled Pigs.

So that you have something to mop up all this lovely alcohol we will have a BBQ, serving Hot Dogs and Burgers with or without Bob’s Special Sauce.  There will also be soft drinks and crisps available.

If anyone has any old plastic chairs or wooden benches that they may want to donate to us to use on the night and in the future then please let us know.

Volunteers Wanted! Click Here if you would like to volunteer this year.

If anyone is interested in giving an hour or 2 of their time to help out on the BBQ or serve pints please get in touch with us.  Without the help of all the people who give their time and energy to make this happen there simply wouldn’t be a beer festival.

So, over the next 2 weeks lets all keep our fingers crossed for warm weather and sunshine!

*Disclaimer! Just in case our delivery ends up being different from the order we can’t 100% guarantee that the beers listed will be available.
